Two small
paintings from school. During free time at school, Sarah tends
to choose "3D" activities like playing with magnets
or dramatic play over "2D" options such as painting
or drawing.
Sarah very,
very systematically colored all these dots! That's her name in the
top left corner, by the way.
Here's a valentine
from Sarah to Em. On the back, a teacher wrote: "Dear Emily,
Thank you for giving me a heart. Love, Sarah."
Sarah is
getting really confident with her letters. Here she asked me what
the letters were in "Mommy." She can spell "Sarah"
and "Emily" without asking!

Both girls
are getting a real kick out of the "project boxes" Bill
and I gave them for Christmas. The boxes are always "out"
and the girls use them almost every day. Here's a project Sarah
put together all by herself.

Sarah: Here's
a monster!
Mom: What makes it a monster?
Sarah: Because it has pokey hands!

The teachers
gave each student the paper with the words written on it already
for the kids to illustrate, then asked them what they had drawn
& wrote it on the bottom. Sarah's says, "When it snows,
I put on a coat and gloves."
Here is a snow
painting from "The Snowy Day" unit.
