Emily really
enjoyed learning about Eric Carle this fall in kindergarten. The
class read lots of his books and watched a video that showed how
he made his collages for the illustrations: first he paints an abstract
mix of colors on a large paper, then he cuts the paper into the
shapes he wants for the pictures. Here Emily uses the same technique:
she scribbled crayon colors on a piece of paper, then traced her
hand and cut out the shape.(She cut off the pinky on purpose becasue
"it didn't come out right.")
I like how
Em filled the whole paper with her doodles.
Emily starts
to write her entire name this fall.
