Poor Em! She catches my stomach bug Thursday night and has to miss school on Friday. This means she misses her class's 100th Day Party celebrating the 100th day of school. She is SO disappointed. She feels a little better when she realizes she can come with Bill and me to buy presents for Sarah's birthday. 2/4

The girls were playing a game in the car this evening, pretending to be other people. Guess who they were? Sarah said: "Okay, I'm Christine." Emily: "No! I want to be Christine!" Sarah: "Okay, then I'm Liz!" 2/5

We spend the morning cleaning out the Big Green Van (we served the girls lunch in the poptop so they could go up there one more time) and then spent the afternoon buying a new car! Emily cried this morning when we told her we were going to sell it. But the girls are excited that the new car has a fold-down armrest in the middle of their seat with cup holders in it! The girls were SUPERSTARS about the long, long afternoon. They colored and played with their Leapsters and received helium balloons from the salesguys while mom and dad talked and talked and talked. Finally we drive off in the new Toyota and have a LATE dinner to celebrate at the Bent Noodle! 2/12

I start full-time work on 2/16--Em is psyched because she'll get to go be with Miss Heather after school two or three days a week till the end of the year. Em was in Miss Heather's afterschool group during kindergarten and always had a good time. 2/17

Em sees some valentines in Highlights that she wants to make for her classmates. I help her trace the heart shape, but she cuts, folds, makes the slit for the straw in the middle, and assembles them all by herself. 2/05

Emily has been sick again and can't go to the Ritchie Center for her days off program today...she's very upset. She does not want to leave the house for our errands and conference with Mrs. Clark. I say, "Part of me just wants to stay home, too, Em." Emily replies, "Well, all OVER me wants to stay home!" 2/22

We have a fantastic conference with Mrs Clark. She loves how Emily is putting all the pieces together for math and reading. She thanked us for laying the groundwork so well! Em has steadily increased her reading level all year and shows no sign of leveling off. She is well-behaved and a leader to her peers. We all agreed that we especially liked the stories Em has been writing lately! Mrs. Clark loves having Em in her class. 2/22

Em has passed out of her first set of skate lessons, and has moved on to the next session! She and her friends Claire and Amanda are the only 3 girls in the class--what fun. 2/26

Lots of changes at the Purple Coyotes: Miss Jen is home with her brand new baby, and Miss Sarah won't start as her replacement for a few more days. Miss Carrie is still on maternity leave, and Mr. Soren was gone today! Sarah was a little sad and asked Miss Kristy, "Can I hang out with you today?" Miss Kristy was happy to give her a little extra love and attention! 2/3

We start Sarah's birthday celebrations tonight with a family party! Liz, Christine, and Susan, Tim and Nigel join us for dinner, presents and cake. Sarah reminds us all that she is still 3 until tomorrow! 2/6

Tucking Sarah in, we talk about being 4. She says she will be bigger when she's four, so I say, "You're getting a little bigger every day!" She said, "Even at lunchtime!" ?????? 2/6

Sarah folds construction paper into cards and glues on cut-out heart shapes in different color combinations for her valentine cards this year. 2/05

Home with Sarah today, I swear I heard, "Mommy?" about 300 times. Also, "Remember when..." and "What if...." !!!!! 2/28
